- EzZip is a "EASY-TO-USE" "FRONT-END" program "ADD-ON" for PKZIP/PKUNZIP
-
-
- EzZip was designed for those of us who use PKZIP/PKUNZIP on a regular
- basis, but hate to TRY to remember the "NUMEROUS!" "COMMAND LINE" options
- of EACH program.....
-
- Thus was born "EzZip" - This "EASY TO USE" program was whiten for
- the novice ZIP user and designed to make ZIPPING as easy as possible!
-
- EzZip is essentially 3 programs built into one, CREATE, EDIT, & SPAN
-
-
- CREATE will allow you to select files from a list and then either
- MOVE or ADD them to a ZIP file.
-
- EDIT will show a list of a ZIP files contents, and allow you to
- select the files you wish to EXTRACT or DELETE from the ZIP file.
- Before it Extracts the files form the ZIP it will show you the current
- available space and the space that the UN-ZIPPED files will take up,
- and give you the opportunity to select an alternative directory and
- drive to extract to.
-
- CREATE/SPAN will allow you to select FILES/DIRECTORIES to ZIP onto disks
- using the new PKZIP V2.x SPAN feature - Also helps with UNZIPPING!
-
-
-
-
- USAGE:
-
-
- C:>EzZip - In a directory where NO ZIP File exists
-
- 1. You will be prompted with the option to "Create" or "Edit"
-
- 2. If you choose to Create you will be shown the current directory,
- and allowed to select files to "put into" the ZIP file
- (you can select files from MULTIPLE Drives/Directories)
-
- 3. You will be prompted to select the drive/dir for the ZIP
- file you want to create, as we as the name for the ZIP file.
-
- 4. Once this is done, you will see the Option screen, here you can
- select from the different types of disk compression, and other
- PKZIP options.
-
- 5. Once this is done, you can SIT BACK and watch it do it's stuff!
-
-
-
- C:>EzZip - In a directory where 1 ZIP File exists
-
- 1. You will have the same screen as above to select "Create" or Edit"
- Except that the "EDIT" button will display the name of the ZIP
- file in the Current Directory!
-
- 2. From here you can just HIT Enter to "EDIT" the aforementioned ZIP
- file, or if you want to ADD TO or Create a NEW Zip use the "Create"
- option and follow the above info!
-
- 3. Once you have selected the "EDIT" option, the program will "READ"
- the ZIP file and bring up a LISTING of the Files inside the ZIP
-
- 4. From this screen, you can Select the files to work with.
-
- 5. Once selected, you then must decide if you want to "UNZIP" or
- "DELETE" these files from the ZIP, If you UNZIP, the files will
- still be left IN the Original ZIP file.
- If you Decide to "DELETE" the files from the zip, you will not
- see any more prompts, it will Immediately proceed to DELETING
- the files from the ZIP!
-
- 6. If you decided to UNZIP, you must then decide were you want
- the UNZIPPED files to go, The default is the Current Directory!
- You can change this to any Drive or directory.
- *NOTE: the Available space on the drive is shown on the screen
- as is the size of the UNZIPPED files allowing you see if
- you will have enough space for the UNZIPPED Files.
-
- 7. After this you will be given several options from PKUNZIP.
- select the ones you need.
-
- 8. Sit Back and watch it do it's stuff!
-
-
-
- C:>EzZip - In a directory where multiple ZIP Files exists
-
- 1. You will still see the Option Screen as above, but if you use
- EDIT you will see a list of ZIP files to Edit
-
- 2. The Rest is like the above!
-
-
-
- C:>EzZip - To SPAN ZIP to Multiple Disks!
-
- 1. The procedure is EXACTLY the same as NORMAL CREATION of zips
- EXCEPT: When you get to the Screen to enter the NAME for the
- ZIP file, Simply hit the "SPAN" button...
-
- 2. You will then have to decide on several options...
- Compression, Name, Which Drive to Span To...
-
- 3. Once Selected, That's it! - Sit back again!!!
-
-
-
- *** Command Line Options:
-
- C:>EzZip ZIP - Takes you into the EDIT Listing of the ZIP File
-
-
-
-
- This Program requires PKZIP, PKUNZIP and ZIP2EXE VERSION 2.X to work.
-
- These programs do not contain the PKZIP/UNZIP files.
-
- You must have these files on your PATH in order to make the best
